You will want to only send these cards to the guests you are inviting, you never want to give any hopes to people that they will eventually be getting an invitation if that is not the case. You will also want to be clear on the envelope who specifically is invited. If it is a large family, it is not automatic that everyone and their significant others are invited. Your venue space or your budget may be limited. Make it clear who this wedding will be for and when they will be able to celebrate with you! Your guests will be so thrilled to mark their calendars right away.
The most crucial part in any invitation is the timing of it all. The proper etiquette in timing for Save the Dates is six months from your special day. You want to give your guests enough time to prepare for any travel that is needed.
